Day 10 - Babies

Today was a busy day, this morning we went shopping for some new, new balance shoes, they are much cheaper here then in Holland.
When we came back from our shopping trip we decided to go to Schoenmakerskop. It's a beautiful bay with a very nice view. We had a 5 kilometer walk over the rocks and through the hills.
But the best part of today was going to the weggooibabies. The place where the weggooibabies is called Lelethu. Tia, Peter and Daphne are good friends with the owner. Lelethu is a place where they take care of children who are laid abandoned. At Lelethu we hold the very little children. It was so comfromting to cuddle these children and give them love while knowing they will always be dependend on the love of others. They don't have a mother that cares for them.
Because of the connection between Peter, Daphne and Tia and Lelethu a lot of volunteers are interested in going there. Because of the big amount of volunteers going and willing to work there for a few days there is a strong between Lelethu and Thamsanqa. This is important because maybe in the future, Thamsanqa wants to develop partnership with other projects in and around Port Elizabeth and Motherwell.
After going to Lelethu we went for a very nice dinner.
At the time I'm writing this blog we are watching the film Hoe Duur Was De Suiker together with Peter, he recognised some places in the film. We looked at the credits and it said that the film was shot at a place not far from here!
Tomorrow we'll go and work at Lelethu!

One Of The Young Ones:
Hoi Eva, we zijn net weer terug van onze wandelweek. We hebben met belangstelling dagelijks je berichten gelezen en gereageerd. we merkten echter dat onze reacties niet verzonden zijn vanwege ons kpn emailadres. Volgende keer doen we het anders. Het is echt leuk wat je daar aan het doen bent en dan ook nog leuke dingen mee maakt. We genieten van je berichtjes en hopen je ook weer snel gezond terug te zien. Groetjes en lfs MW
