At first we had to pray and sing a few songs that all had the same subject: God.
These children are practically brainwashed with the christian faith. At such young age they learn that everything that exsists is because of god and they only read Bible stories. But it's in their culture so we can only accept it. We also met two children. One of them was 2 years old and both his parents have aids, his mom died a month ago because of it. The little guy also has aids. There also was a little girl who had trouble walking. We asked the housemother why. She was abused when she was just a little baby thats why she has so much difficulty with walking. It is so inspiring to see how these children , although they already had such bad experiences at a young age, still are so enthusiastic to see you!! At 12.30 the cildren went home.
We were picked up by Anneke and Thijmen and went to Zimpiwe. He was a housefather of Thamsanqa before but he couldn't handle it. We went to look at his new house in Motherwell. It was nice to see that he was so proud of it even though we (Dutch people) would consider it very poor.
At dinner the priest of the church we went to two days ago came over to eat. He told us some very inspiring stories about his father and the Apartheid. He told us that when he was young, the white people ordered them to eat shit untill they vomitted. He also told us that his father was on Robbeneiland together with Nelson Mandela.
Tomorrow we are going to celebrate the birthday of Tsamkelo.
Greetings from South-Africa!
